Love Story-Made For Each Other - 1

Surya is getting ready for his new corporate life to start.
His room mates Arjun, Vishal and Vijay already wished Surya last night to have a successful start for his new career.

Surya completed his engineering and he is working in small concern for the past one year. He got a job opportunity in a large concern which is obviously in his own field of interest. He is going to join the new firm today and he is really excited about his new venture.

Arjun wake up @ 8:00 am and surprised to see that Surya is still in the home. He thought Surya will leave from the home before 8:00.
“Hey, what are you doing here? I thought you will be on your way to office” Arjun asked.
“Hmmm…I’m just ironing my shirts and pants.” Surya replied.

Surya will always wear the shirts and pants which are neatly pressed. Arjun wants to scold Surya with as many bad words a possible but being it’s a first day to Surya he simple mind his own business and he is on leave today. So he doesn’t want to start his day with a scolding.

Surya said, “Arjun I’ve to catch my bus @ 8:15 da, please drop me at the bus stop da”
Vishal wake up and joined. “Hey you have got only five more minutes. Hurry up. Take my IPod da. If you feel bored in bus or in office just listen to the music”

Surya started with Arjun in the bike after saying thanks to the Vishal for his new IPod. After dropping Arjun said, “Finish all the joining formalities today itself. You look simply stunning smart Surya .Try to make new friends at least here. Catch you @ home in the evening. Bye”
Arjun meant not the boy friends. He meant the girl friends.

Surya is not a bad looking guy. He is decent and smart in all aspects. He is not fair but he got a charismatic face and smile by which he can easily attract the others especially the girls. From school itself Surya had a lot of girl friends from the school but none turned into love. All the girls looked Surya as a good friend only and he is desperately longing for a girl to share his emotions now. He also got many appreciations on his looks from his girl friends also. But he needs to impress at least one girl to turn up the relation as love. Unfortunately everything failed. He hates the city cultured girls. Sometimes he behaves like a rocking dude with a freaky attitude. But basically Surya is a high spiritual spirit. At times he wonders how people are caught in love with so ease. His room mates Vishal and Vijay are also in love for more than three years. Arjun is the one who is not interested in girls due to his personal reasons.

Surya catch the office bus and looked for a seat. He loves to sit in the window seat. Fortunately the window seat behind the driver seat is empty and the rest of the bus is filled with the people. He is happy to get the seat for two reasons. One for the window seat and the other is he can clearly see who are all the persons boarding the bus.

He wanted to open the IPod and listen to some music. But he felt that he can watch the people for the first day and may be on the return he wanted to listen to the music. He watched all the people boarding the bus on different stops and the bus stopped in the office campus.

Surya asked for the HR department and they wanted to wait Surya in a conference room with some other people. While entering, he quickly looked around the room to see the number of girls who are also joining with him. He easily spots out quite a few good looking girls. Some of them are already on phone and some of them are chatting with the neighbors. Surya thought, “What ever may be it’s the Gods Wish”. He seated in one of the corners of the room so that no one can have his attention.

Surya is naturally a reserved guy. But after making friends he won’t be like in the initial stages. He can move freely and any body can assure that Surya is the one who is best in killing times. His friends (both boys and girls) used to tell Surya that being with him, the hours will be passing like a seconds. He is fully comical and made the environment without having any tension.

After some time with the initial HR speech and introductions, the conference room door opens. A charm mallu (keralite) enters the rooms. She called herself,”Naveena”.

Surya is very fond of the mallus. Some thing in them attracts Surya very much. As we guessed Surya’s eyes is now fixed on the Veena now. She approaches towards Surya and she takes the seat next to him. His eyes couldn’t believe what he is seeing. He is questioning himself that this is real or am I dreaming? Surya’s heart is pounding with longings to have a chat with Veena. Everybody else is taking care of their own business. Now Surya becomes cautious and he doesn’t want Veena to drag to his attention. So he deliberately looks on his forms and started to fill again the already filled forms.

This time all the planets favor Surya. Veena is struck in the middle of the form filling. He already started to help her to complete but he hesitates and stops as if he is not aware of this whole scene. Veena in a slow voice, “Excuse me, could you please help me out in filling these. I’m not aware or these facts”.

Surya couldn’t believe what he hears. She might have asked the girl sitting next to her on the right or the guy on the left who is also a mallu. He is sitting almost behind her seat. After finishing all the forms Surya moved out of the conference table to the corner. But she turned back all the way and asked Surya. He thought Time favors me.

Then he helped her in all the forms. But the beauty is she didn’t ask his name. He is desperately waiting for her to ask his name as he knows her name already. Sometimes he urged to tell Veena, “By the way, I’m Surya. I worked in so and so company before.” But he didn’t do as this looks funny and seems like he is blushing. The morning session finishes off without having an introduction to each other.

In the lunch session Surya doesn’t have any one to know for having lunch with them. So he decided to take the lunch on his own. After getting the lunch he found an empty table as usual in the corner of the cafeteria. The food court is filled with lots and lots of people in pairs. It’s really hard for him to find the people especially girls to have the lunch together. Some strange feeling that he had about the new concern is that he find all the girls are in artificial beauty. Most of the girls are in modern dress (in shirt and pants). Even the chudithar girls are having lipstick, loose and free falling hair, tight salwars etc. No one is in her natural beauty. In the previous concern there is not much of female workers. Only the reception list lady, courier room lady, the data entry lady and very few are the female workers.

He started to eat his lunch dreaming about Veena. Veena is not that much beautiful to have the others attraction. To be precise, Surya is smarter than Veena when compared on the same scale. No one will see Veena as a beautiful on the first look itself. She is not like the other girls in the new concern. The way she dresses, the way she combs the hair, the way she talks and walks, are entirely homely and no one will see her as a charming beauty. But she is looking very beautiful for Surya. May be her simplicity looks attracted him. He was dreaming that she comes near his table and asking for a seat to have lunch.

A voice interrupted his dream. It is a female voice. Veena is standing in front of him. Suddenly he wakes up with an unbelieving shock. She asked, “Excuse me. Can I have this seat? “
“Yah Sure”, he replied.
“Thanks.” Her phone started ringing with some Malayalam tune.
She stated speaking in Malayalam and Hindi in between.
As he doesn’t know both the languages, Surya is not able to understand a single word she speaks. His mind started telling him that she is also a girl friend with some one else. He recollected one formula which Arjun used to tell him often. Some of the Girls fall in love in the School days, Most of the girls in the college days and the rest in the beginning of the career. He felt ashamed and angry on himself for wasting the entire college life and his initial career life. He said to himself that at best she doesn’t come to his table for lunch.

After finishing the phone call, she is murmuring to herself about some thing. This is what he understands from her reaction. He thought, may be her personal problem with her boy friend.
“Sorry. I was on the line for quite a long time and keep you away”, she said.
“It’s okay. I understand that. Have your lunch before getting cold”, he replied.
“Thanks for reminding me. He always questions me a lot and never cuts the phone quickly”, she said in a hash way
“It’s quite a natural thing today to take care of the people of the opposite gender”, he sounded like a very vexed man.
“Yeah. I love him though he ruptures me like this.”
“Good to have such a relation ship other than the family members”, he said with bursting sadness.
“I’m sorry Mr.Surya. He is my cousin brother and we grown up together from his child hood”, she fired him back.

He was about to say sorry, but one thing stopped his tongue. How did she know my name? I didn’t even tell her. In fact I’m waiting for the opportunity to tell her. She came late and obviously she missed the introductory section. Then how come she knows my name?
“How did you get my name?” he asked.
“I saw on the papers when you are trying to help me. Is it your papers or you are helping other person too just like you did to me. You are Surya rite or am I mistaken?” She replied.

Now he understands the picture. He felt how childish to expect a formal intro from her. That’s why she doesn’t ask him the name, even after helped her in the morning.
“Err... its mine only” he said blushingly.
“Any way I’m Naveena as you are aware of the name already”, she said.
“Yeah. I know”.

Surya is not a professional chatter. He doesn’t chat with the new friends more because of the reserved nature. He is good in English and he had cleared the GRE with a high score in his class. But today he is stammering with his words to put. He is simply responding her with yes and no. He wanted to be more comfortable in this situation and handle smoothly. He wants to talk to her as she attracted him very much. He started starring at her and watching her eating the lunch without eating his food.
She looked up and asked, “Hey, what are you scaring at?”
This time Surya has to become cautious and he wants to act like he was in some other thoughts.
“Nothing. Just out of my mind. I was engaged in some other thoughts”, he replied with almost relaxed breathe.
V: Oh. Okay. I was initially with X company and moved here to find better opportunities
S: Great. I heard a lot of good things about your company. All of my previous company employees are joined in your company only.
V: To be frank, it’s only the name outside. Once when you come in, you are treated like nothing.
S: Is that so.
V: Yeah. You know this happened to a friend of mine.
She started telling stories about the friends work and the company actions.

He is very much attracted towards her speech. Her slang, her body language everything attracts Surya. He is not sure that, is this, the real love what people are talking about. He wanted to call his room mates in a conference and want to tell about Veena. But in some corner of the mind its keep telling that it’s only a fatal attraction and nothing else. He will look all the girls and there is no barrier for him to look but he like only very few girls. In the school he liked one girl who is close to him and he had no communication with her after he joined the college. Now doesn’t know where she is. He tried to track with the help of other friends who she is close to but it ended up in vain. In the college also he liked one girl but he didn’t even show a sigh that he liked her. Even his room mates don’t know this until few months back.

Surya is called as a saint or a monk in the college days. He maintains a genuine relationship with all the girls in the college. But when he joined the company and seeing his room mates are settled he is caught up in an emotional loneliness. Even though he spent hours on phone on talking to his friends, Surya had a void feeling in the heart. Few months back he told his parents that he wants to be settled in life and he needs a marriage as soon as possible. His parents are shocked on hearing this and they urged him to go to US for higher studies. He is not interested in going abroad. So he just changed his company to have a different atmosphere.

Veena keeps on talking still she finishes her lunch. “Hello. Are you in this world? I’m I bored you by keep on talking?” she asked.
“Not at all. I’m just listening to you. Nothing else” he replied.
“I know that you are listening to me and you are out of mind this time too. Now tell me why are you scaring like this for the second time?” she her point this time.
This time Surya caught up red handed. He had to admit the truth as this is the second time she saw him scaring at her within twenty minutes. He had no other choice. He just wants to tell the truth in a manner that it not affects his image and her morale. He is trying to get the exact words to express his feelings. He decided to make it in a clear and simple way.

“Your simplicity attracts me much. Everyone in this concern is artificial in some ways. But you are the only person I can see in the natural way so far. I know this may sound harsh or rubbish to you but please don’t mistake me. It’s my way to admire the natural things in the world. Take these words as a compliment. I really don’t know that I can see you like this in rest of my life. So I just wondered on seeing you today itself. If my behavior hurts you in any senses please forgive me this time Veena. I can assure that this won’t happen in the future”, replied Surya.

“Hmm…What is there wrong in this? You don’t have to tell me sorry for this and all. Nobody look me in the way you looked. I thought it was some strange thing in my face or in my head. Also nobody complimented me before, like you did. Thanks for your compliments. I’m like this always. “She replied with blushing.
